Indonesia floriculture exports reach Rp3.51 trillion
Indonesia's floriculture exports reached Rp3.51 trillion between January 1 and September 14, 2026, according to data from the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin). These exports, which include chrysanthemum flowers, lily seedlings, Saintpaulia seedlings, and aquarium plants, have reached 96 different countries.
Speaking at the Floriculture Indonesia International (FLOII) Expo 2026 in Tangerang, Barantin Head Abdul Kadir Karding emphasized that the floriculture industry serves as a strategic driver for the green economy, creative industries, and job creation. He noted that while export values are rising, the domestic ornamental plant market remains massive, with an estimated value between Rp20 trillion and Rp40 trillion that is currently under-managed.
Karding highlighted the importance of collaboration between breeders, nurseries, entrepreneurs, and the government to transform Indonesia's biodiversity into high-value, competitive international products. He also stressed that expanding these markets requires strict adherence to quarantine requirements to mitigate the risk of spreading plant pests.
