Indonesia focuses on cultural heritage and national values
Sumatra is characterized by a diverse array of ethnic groups, languages, and traditions spanning from Aceh in the north to Lampung in the south. Key cultural groups include the Acehnese, whose customs reflect a blend of religious and local values; the Batak people of North Sumatra, who follow the 'Dalihan Na Tolu' kinship system; and the Minangkabau of West Sumatra, known for their matrilineal descent system and 'Rumah Gadang' architecture.
In Sumenep, Member of Parliament MH Said Abdullah held a socialization event regarding the 'Four Pillars of Nationality' aimed at empowering youth and students. The initiative emphasizes the responsibility of the younger generation to uphold national values amidst modern challenges such as digital misinformation, intolerance, and regional fanaticism to ensure the stability of the Republic of Indonesia.
