Indonesia focuses on leadership quality and technological independence

Indonesian officials have emphasized the importance of leadership quality and technological independence in driving national development. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, stated that the future of Indonesia's infrastructure depends on leaders possessing integrity, character, and the courage to make decisions that benefit the public. He noted that intellectual intelligence alone is insufficient, arguing that leadership must go beyond mere authority to create a tangible impact on the nation.

In a separate development, Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara is advocating for Indonesia to master waste-to-energy technologies rather than simply purchasing them from abroad. Following a visit to the Sanfeng Environment Group in Chongqing, China, the Minister highlighted the need for human resource development and knowledge transfer. He noted that China's success in the sector resulted from long-term investment in people and gradual engineering development, rather than just the procurement of machinery.
