Indonesia furniture industry sees growth and market expansion
Indonesia's furniture industry is showing strong growth, with the sector recording an 11.82% increase. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto highlighted the importance of the International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia (IFFINA)+ 2026 in mitigating global uncertainty by expanding markets and building direct relationships with international buyers. In 2025, the industry achieved an export value of USD 2,390.68 million against imports of USD 1,917.37 million, resulting in a trade surplus of USD 473.31 million. The United States remains the primary market, absorbing approximately 60% of Indonesian furniture exports.
In response to shifting consumer needs, the VIVERE Group's brand, Idemu, has launched Pawhaus, a collection of pet-friendly furniture. Designed to integrate seamlessly with home interiors, the collection addresses the growing trend of pet ownership in Indonesia, where research indicates over 70% of households own pets. The Pawhaus concept focuses on pet comfort, smart functionality, and interior design to ensure pet facilities like resting and playing areas complement the home's aesthetic.
