Indonesia futsal team heads to Spain for training camp and friendlies ahead of 2028 World Cup

The Indonesia men’s national futsal team will travel to Spain for a centralized training camp from August 11 to 23, 2026. Coach Hector Souto said the four‑week program, involving 20 selected players, is meant to raise the squad’s level by exposing them to European and South American competition.

During the stay the team will play four friendly matches – two against Spanish clubs Palma and Noia and one against Portugal’s Braga – as part of its preparation for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup. Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir reiterated Indonesia’s interest in bidding to host the tournament, citing recent strong performances in Asian competition.
