Indonesia gold prices slip as global rates rise and demand eases
On 20 June 2026 Indonesia’s Pegadaian reported a uniform decline in its gold products. UBS fell by the largest margin, losing Rp 49 000 per gram to Rp 2 668 000, while Antam dropped Rp 32 000 to the same level and Galeri 24 slipped Rp 48 000 to Rp 2 655 000 per gram. The price fall continues a multi‑day trend, with earlier levels on 19 June around Rp 2 717 000 for UBS and Rp 2 812 000 for Antam.
The downward pressure mirrors global movements: the spot price of gold weakened to about US$ 4 150 per ounce, its lowest since 11 June, as the US dollar strengthened and the Federal Reserve signalled further rate hikes. Analysts note the same trend in neighboring markets, with Malaysian jewellery retailers expecting spot prices to fall to around RM 540 per gram.
Despite price drops, domestic demand remains strong. At the Bandung International Jewellery Fair, Galeri 24 sold more than 3 kg of gold, indicating continued public interest in gold as an investment asset.
