Gold Prices Slip in Indonesia as Global Market Falls
Indonesia’s state‑pawnshop Pegadaian reported lower gold prices on 11 June 2026. The Antam brand fell to Rp 2 822 000 per gram (down Rp 21 000), UBS to Rp 2 703 000 (down Rp 54 000) and Galeri24 to Rp 2 690 000 (down Rp 44 000). The same downward trend was noted the previous day, with Antam’s 24‑karat gold priced at Rp 2 713 000 per gram and its buy‑back rate dropping to Rp 2 487 000.
Globally, gold prices slid toward US$ 4 100 per ounce, the lowest level since late 2025, as U.S. inflation data showed a 4.2 % annual rise and renewed U.S.–Iran tensions pushed oil prices up. The same pressures drove silver to about US$ 64.5 per ounce and palladium around US$ 1 250 per ounce, while weaker automotive demand for palladium‑based catalysts added to the decline. These movements influence Indonesian investors and traders who view gold as a hedge against economic uncertainty, with local pricing reflecting global commodity trends, exchange‑rate shifts, and market sentiment.
