Indonesia government debt reaches Rp10,293 trillion
Indonesia's government debt reached Rp10,293.69 trillion as of June 30, 2026, according to data from the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) under the Ministry of Finance. This figure represents approximately 41.26% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), an increase of roughly Rp373.27 trillion from the end of March 2026.
The debt is primarily composed of State Securities (SBN), which account for 87.1% of the total (Rp8,966.79 trillion), while loans contribute the remaining 12.9% (Rp1,326.90 trillion).
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the debt level remains safe, as it is well below the 60% of GDP limit mandated by the State Finance Law. To manage the debt ratio, the government intends to limit budget deficits and optimize state revenue by improving tax collection systems without increasing tax rates. Additionally, the government is considering using a portion of profits from Danantara to support fiscal management and reduce the debt burden.
