Indonesia Highlights Student Successes in Social Aid and Entrepreneurship Programs
Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs showcased the achievements of its Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) program after one year of operation, reporting that more than 43,000 under‑privileged students have earned hundreds of awards at district, provincial, national and international levels. Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) noted 4 international, 674 national and 71 regional honors among the students, emphasizing the program’s role in restoring confidence and discipline among the youth.
In a parallel effort, the Student Company initiative, organized by Prestasi Junior Indonesia with support from Zurich and Starbucks, engaged 1,173 high‑school students from 45 schools across the country. The participants created 45 student‑run companies, generating collective revenue of over Rp 483 million and competing in the 2026 PJI Company of the Year contest. Both programs underline the growing emphasis on nurturing entrepreneurship and creative skills among Indonesia’s young population.
