Indonesia Holds Massive Zikir and National Prayer Event at Monas

Over 100,000 people gathered at Monumen Nasional in Jakarta on 1‑2 August 2026 for a Zikir and Doa Kebangsaan ceremony marking Indonesia’s 81st independence anniversary.

The event was led by Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, who emphasized the role of spiritual practice alongside concrete development, and by MPR speaker Ahmad Muzani, who prayed for national unity. Police (Polda Metro Jaya) ensured order and smooth traffic.

Organizers highlighted a rise in the inter‑faith harmony index, the highest since independence, and presented the ceremony as a platform for diverse religious communities to pray together.
