Indonesia hosts film festivals promoting cinema and anti-corruption themes
The Indonesian film industry is hosting two distinct festival initiatives in November 2026. The Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) 2026 has launched Nomination Week, a program offering free screenings of Piala Citra nominated films to increase public access to high-quality domestic cinema.
Nomination Week screenings are scheduled across four cities: Jakarta at CGV Pacific Place from November 4 to 8, Palembang at CGV Social Market on November 6, Makassar at CGV Panakkukang Mall on November 7, and Mataram at CGV Transmart on November 8. The program includes various categories such as feature films, short films, documentaries, and animation.
Simultaneously, the Anti-Corruption Film Festival (ACFFEST) 2026 is being held to promote integrity through cinema. Managed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the festival spans 12 provinces and 42 locations, involving over 6,000 participants. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto expressed hope that the participating films would eventually reach wider audiences through national cinema networks and streaming services.
