Indonesia hosts regional expos to expand economic partnerships
Indonesia is hosting two major regional expos aimed at expanding international trade, education, and supply chain opportunities.
In Yogyakarta, the Jogja Expo 2026 is facilitating connections between local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the Hajj and Umrah sectors. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah aims to integrate local products into a supply chain estimated to have a turnover of Rp80 trillion. Early agreements totaling approximately Rp1 billion have already been signed between business actors before the official conclusion of the event.
Simultaneously, the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon is organizing the Indonesia Expo 2026 in Myanmar. Under the theme ‘Bridging Partnerships, Building Prosperity’, the event connects 39 Indonesian companies and institutions with 19 Myanmar-based firms. The expo covers diverse sectors including energy, agriculture, electric vehicles, and logistics, while also promoting Indonesian higher education through partnerships between institutions such as Universitas Widyatama and Yangon University of Foreign Languages.
