Indonesia implements Golden Visa and GCI to boost investment
The North Jakarta Immigration Office is conducting socialization for the Golden Visa and Global Citizenship of Indonesia (GCI) programs to support the national investment climate. These policies are designed as strategic instruments to drive economic growth by attracting global talent, investors, and the Indonesian diaspora.
As of August 26, 2026, the North Jakarta Immigration Office has recorded 47 Golden Visa holders, including those under the Second Home (Index E33), former Indonesian citizens (Index E32A), and Second Home for Seniors (Index E33E) categories. Additionally, 53 individuals are registered as GCI holders.
According to Rendra Mauliansyah, Head of the North Jakarta Immigration Office, the Golden Visa aims to attract individuals with significant capital, expertise, or international reputation. Meanwhile, the GCI program focuses on strengthening ties with the diaspora, former Indonesian citizens, and their descendants to encourage contributions of knowledge and expertise to the country.
