Indonesia intensifies health screening and early detection efforts

Health authorities in Indonesia are intensifying early detection efforts through various free health screening programs. In Sinjai Regency, the local government has launched an integrated movement to accelerate tuberculosis (TB) control. Between January and August 2026, 371 TB cases were identified among 4,100 suspected individuals. The initiative focuses on active tracing, screening, and early detection, particularly for close contacts of known patients, to prevent transmission and ensure timely treatment.

Similarly, the Tigaraksa Regional General Hospital (RSUD Tigaraksa) conducted comprehensive health checks for its entire staff and management. The program, held in collaboration with the Tigaraksa Community Health Center, included services such as blood sugar testing, electrocardiograms (EKG), Human Papillomavirus (HPV) testing, Hepatitis vaccinations, and eye examinations. Hospital leadership emphasized that routine screenings are essential for maintaining the health of medical and non-medical personnel to ensure optimal public service.
