Indonesia launches agricultural training for fertilizer use and pest detection
Agricultural authorities in Indonesia are implementing training programs to enhance farmer skills and crop protection. In Central Kalimantan, the Palm Oil Fund Management Agency (BPDP) and the Binuang Agricultural Training Center (BBPP Binuang) are conducting training on the production and application of organic fertilizers. The program, held in Palangka Raya, aims to help palm oil farmers from East Kotawaringin Regency manage rising fertilizer costs and increase productivity.
In Gorontalo, field training is being conducted to strengthen the capacity of Plant Pest Control Officers (POPT). This initiative focuses on early detection of plant pests and the impacts of climate change. Participants are practicing field observation, sampling techniques, and data reporting in the Telaga District to improve decision-making regarding crop health and environmental conditions.
