Indonesia launches first FAST Media Alliance with Coolita and broadcasters
An industry alliance dedicated to free‑ad‑supported streaming TV (FAST) was launched in Jakarta, marking Indonesia's first such platform. The Indonesia FAST Media Alliance was jointly initiated by Coolita and the China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC). Its founding members are public and private broadcasters TVRI, Metro TV, GARUDA TV, BTV, Jawa Pos Multimedia and JAKTV, with Tencent Cloud serving as the technology partner.
Coolita, which runs a smart‑TV platform in more than 100 countries and serves over 40 million users worldwide (including more than five million in Indonesia), will provide its Coolita Channel – a service offering more than 1,000 free channels – as the distribution backbone. The alliance, announced during the China–Indonesia Youth Cultural Exchange Series, aims to help Indonesian broadcasters develop FAST channels, distribute digital content, and collaborate on technology while preserving free‑to‑air strengths. It is positioned as an open platform that may expand as additional broadcasters and ecosystem partners join.
