Indonesia launches Quantum-Safe Indonesia initiative
Telkom, Peruri, Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara (BSSN), and Danantara Indonesia have formalized the ‘Quantum-Safe Indonesia’ initiative through the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding. The collaboration aims to prepare the nation’s digital ecosystem for the security challenges posed by the advancement of quantum computing.
The initiative focuses on developing Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) capabilities to mitigate risks to current information security systems. Key objectives include conducting cryptographic asset inventories, performing quantum risk assessments, and planning a structured, staged migration to quantum-resistant methods.
Peruri and Telkom are working to integrate digital trust and cybersecurity solutions, such as digital identity services, electronic certificates, and digital signatures, to ensure they remain secure against next-generation computing capabilities. BSSN is developing a framework to guide Indonesian organizations through a measurable transition toward cryptographic agility and enhanced security standards.
