Indonesia logistics sector sees digital innovation and rising shipment volumes

The Indonesian logistics sector is seeing significant developments in both digital infrastructure and service volume. Portify, a ‘One Stop Logistics Platform’ developed by PT Talenta Nusa Cipta (TNC), aims to digitize the national logistics ecosystem. The platform is designed to integrate various stakeholders, including freight forwarders (EMKL), container depots, and ports, into a single digital workflow. This integration seeks to replace manual processes—such as those conducted via WhatsApp or email—with a streamlined system for ordering, document verification, payments, and the issuance of Gate and Depot Passes.

Simultaneously, KAI Logistik’s KALOG Express reported a surge in activity, reaching its highest monthly volume of 2026 in August. The service handled 8,369 tons of goods, comprising over 310,000 packages, marking a 30% increase compared to the monthly average of the first half of the year. The shipment volume was led by packages, followed by 20,165 motorcycles and 15,968 pets. The increase in motorcycle shipments was attributed to holiday mobility and competitive pricing offered through the KAI Logistik TRAX application.
