Indonesia Ministry of Manpower launches vocational training for laid-off workers

The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has opened vocational training programs specifically for workers affected by layoffs (PHK) between 2024 and 2026. The initiative aims to help displaced workers enhance their skills, increase competitiveness, and prepare them for new employment opportunities or independent entrepreneurship.

Darmawansyah, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development at Kemnaker, stated that the training is a strategic step to facilitate competency shifts and open access to new work opportunities.

Applicants must provide documentation to verify their layoff status, such as a National ID (KTP), layoff notices, contract termination letters, or work experience certificates. In cases where official layoff documents are unavailable, workers may submit a self-declaration statement signed on a stamp duty (meterai). Registration is conducted through the official SkillHub Kemnaker portal.
