Indonesia Ministry of Manpower to launch disability training center in 2027
Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower is preparing to launch a dedicated Disability Training Center in Bekasi, which is targeted to begin operations in 2027. Located within the Bekasi Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BBPVP) complex, the facility is intended to serve as a pilot project for the country.
The center will offer various vocational programs, including IT, call center operations, barista training, sewing, and automotive mechanics. Minister of Manpower Yassierli noted that the initiative aims to provide equal opportunities for people with disabilities to enter the workforce or start their own businesses.
Between January and October 2026, the Ministry has already trained 1,041 individuals with disabilities through national vocational programs. According to Minister Yassierli, a significant portion of these trainees have already secured employment or established independent enterprises.
