Indonesia Ministry of Tourism maps wellness tourism potential
The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is mapping the potential and ecosystem of wellness tourism to strengthen the competitiveness of the nation's tourism services and promote sustainable development.
Acting Deputy for Industry and Investment, Rizki Handayani, stated that wellness tourism is a significant strength for Indonesia, offering travelers a sense of enlightenment through therapy and nature. To develop this sector, the Ministry is working on a comprehensive, integrated approach involving the Ministry of Health, local health offices, and various industry associations, including the Indonesian Spa Association (ASPI) and the Bali Spa & Wellness Association (BSWA).
A wellness business catalog is currently being compiled to be integrated into the Indonesia Travel database, which will help tourists easily access information regarding wellness products and services across different regions.
