Sumatera Utara Governor presents development priorities to Bappenas

Sumatera Utara Governor Bobby Nasution has presented five regional development priorities to Bappenas, including the construction of an international-standard hospital in Medan, accelerating development in the Nias Islands, and disaster recovery efforts. Nasution emphasized the province's strategic role as a western gateway to Indonesia, noting its significant contribution to the national GDP.

In a separate initiative, Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman is promoting the Rempang Eco-City in Batam through a strategy termed “ada gula, ada semut” (where there is sugar, there are ants). The goal is to stimulate economic activity to attract local populations to the area. This includes hosting events like the Transmigration Festival and providing educational opportunities, such as scholarship information from the Technical University of Munich.

Additionally, Governor Nasution is seeking investment cooperation with Japan, focusing on human resource development, fisheries, and tourism, particularly in the Nias Islands.
