Indonesian athletes advance in 2026 BWF World Championships

Indonesian athletes have secured several victories at the 2026 BWF World Championships in New Delhi, India. Mixed doubles pair Amri Syahnawi and Nita Violina Marwah advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Turkey's Emre Sonmez and Yasemen Bektas with scores of 21-17 and 21-10.

Other notable performances include Bimo Prasetyo and Arlya Nabila Thesya Munggaran, who secured a spot in the second round after a dramatic rubber-game win against France's Julien Maio and Lea Palermo. Marwan Faza and Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata also progressed to the round of 32 following a victory over Serbia's Mihajlo Tomic and Andjela Vitman.

In the women's singles category, Putri Kusuma Wardani moved into the second round after a dominant performance against Philippines' Mikaela Joy De Guzman, winning 21-12, 21-6. Wardani expressed her ambition to improve upon her previous bronze medal performance, though she emphasized a “nothing to lose” mindset to manage pressure.
