Indonesia commemorates Pancasila Sanctity Day 2026

Indonesia observed the 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day (Hari Kesaktian Pancasila) on October 1, with ceremonies held nationwide. The central commemoration was led by President Prabowo Subianto at the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta. The event included a moment of silence to honor the heroes of the September 30th Movement (G30S/PKI) and the official signing of the pledge (ikrar) by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani.

Following the ceremony, President Prabowo and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin inaugurated the renovated Pancasila Sanctity Museum. The theme for this year's observance was ‘Pancasila as the Unifier of the Nation Towards a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.’

Regional and institutional ceremonies were also conducted across the country. In Aceh Tengah, military and local government officials participated in a ceremony involving 200 attendees. In Lampung, the Provincial Secretary emphasized using Pancasila values to combat modern threats like hoaxes and hate speech. Other observances took place at PT Pelindo Multi Terminal in Sibolga, UIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, and various local government offices, all focusing on strengthening national unity and integrity.
