Indonesia officials urge digital space management to combat disinformation

Indonesian officials are emphasizing the strategic importance of managing digital spaces to protect national character and institutional integrity. Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, warned that the digital arena is a critical battlefield for public opinion. He stated that failure to control this space could allow disinformation, slander, and hatred to shape negative public mindsets and weaken the nation's character.

In a similar vein, Maluku Regional Police (Polda Maluku) official Kombes Pol. Jemi Junaid issued guidance to female police officers (Polwan) regarding social media usage. He noted that digital activities directly impact both personal and institutional reputations, stressing that professionalism includes maintaining discipline and integrity within the digital realm.
