Indonesia Palm Oil Farmers Demand Data Audit as Danantara Expands Role

Perkumpulan Organisasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (POPSI) chair Mansuetus Darto said the government must improve export governance based on verifiable data to curb foreign‑exchange leakage. He responded to PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia's claim that the gap between declared export prices and international benchmarks for palm‑oil products such as RBD Olein has narrowed substantially since its launch on 1 June 2026.

POPSI demanded that Danantara release the underlying price data, disclose the benchmark and methodology used, and submit the figures to an independent audit. The organization warned that expanding Danantara’s mandate to a single‑seller agent for palm‑oil exports starting 1 September 2026 is premature and could depress farm‑gate prices. POPSI asked the government to (1) make all comparative price data public, (2) clarify any impact on farmers’ income, and (3) postpone the role expansion until an independent three‑month evaluation is completed with farmer representation.
