Indonesia marks National Child Day 2026 with nationwide child‑protection initiatives

On 23 July 2026 Indonesia marked National Child Day (Hari Anak Nasional) with a series of events and programmes aimed at child protection, health, education and well‑being across the country. The Ministry of Law, together with the ministries of PPPA, P2MI and the Australian government, inaugurated village‑based legal‑aid posts (Posbankum) to prevent crimes against women and children. Retail chain Alfamart continued its “One Egg a Day” stunting‑prevention scheme, providing eggs and nutrition education to 2,700 children in 39 districts.

State‑owned enterprises and NGOs also contributed: PT Kereta Api Indonesia held a free colouring contest at Padang station; BRI’s “Peduli” programme delivered educational activities and infrastructure upgrades in six primary schools; DBS Bank organised an “Exploration Day” museum visit for 80 waste‑picker children; Pertamina Foundation ran environmental‑care workshops for kindergarteners; Save the Children warned of rising digital violence and urged multi‑stakeholder action. Regional governments in Binjai, Kendal, Jayapura, Puncak and other districts organised ceremonies, speeches and material aid for children, reinforcing the national “Sayang Anak, Lindungi dan Bangun Masa Depan” theme.
