Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Shanghai Microport MedBot signed a Memorandum of Understanding at ITB’s campus in Bandung on 29 July 2026. The partnership will pursue joint research and development in medical robotics, including a new research centre, artificial‑intelligence‑driven telesurgery and satellite‑communication technologies, supporting Indonesia’s push to accelerate national health‑tech capabilities.

Telkomsel and China Telecom Global signed a similar MoU at the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai on 25 June 2026. The agreement aims to develop integrated digital solutions for Indonesian enterprises, leveraging artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, 5G and edge‑computing services, and exploring SIM‑based platforms to improve connectivity across Indonesia’s islands.
