Indonesia PDIP begins local branch elections for 2026‑31 term

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has started its five‑year Musyawarah Ranting (Musran) process to elect new branch and sub‑branch leaders ahead of the 2026‑31 term. In Karanganyar, Central Java, DPC chair Rober Christanto said the meetings began in the party’s second electoral district and are on track to finish by July 2026, noting, “Musran ini sudah kita tata dan siapkan… berjalan lancar.”

In Sidoarjo, East Java, the DPC has completed the first stage of candidate selection, gathering 1,730 names from 346 villages and urban wards. Choirul Hidayat, deputy chair for organization, announced, “Target dari DPC, kepengurusan ranting se‑kabupaten selesai akhir bulan ini,” and the party will narrow the list to one nominee per village for the next round of verification.
