Indonesia Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo Remains Amid Rumored Replacement Decree

Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi said there is no presidential decree (Surpres) to replace Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, confirming that the government has not issued any such order. The chair of the DPR's Commission III, Habiburokhman, echoed the statement, adding that the legislature has not received any decree on the matter.

Analysts note that speculation about a replacement stems from ongoing tensions between the police and the Attorney General's Office over a high‑profile case. They argue that a sudden change could damage President Prabowo Subianto’s image, and that Listyo’s tenure of more than five and a half years—second longest since independence—makes an immediate swap unlikely, though calls for police leadership regeneration persist.
