Indonesia police investigate two separate cases of alleged sexual abuse of minors

Authorities in Indonesia are investigating two separate incidents involving the alleged sexual abuse of 14-year-old junior high school students in Palembang and Yogyakarta.

In Palembang, a 33-year-old man identified as AN has been detained by the Polrestabes Palembang after being handed over by the victim's parents. The victim reported that while being transported to her grandmother's house, the suspect diverted her to a cemetery area and coerced her into sexual acts under threat of abandonment. The case is currently being handled by the Women and Child Protection Unit.

In Yogyakarta, a staff member at a school health clinic (UKS) has been reported to the police for alleged indecent acts against a student. The incident reportedly occurred while the victim was resting in the clinic due to dizziness. Police in Yogyakarta are currently conducting an investigation and plan to involve a psychologist to assist the victim during the legal process. The suspect's legal status remains under investigation.
