Indonesia police secure sites after discovering suspected bomb devices

Police in Ambon sealed off a site on Jalan Dr. Setiabudi after residents reported a buried iron object that resembled an aircraft bomb. The area was sterilised and a police line was erected while the Gegana Brimob team prepared for excavation and identification of the device.

In Adonara, two low‑yield improvised pipe bombs were found near the home of village chief Waiburak. The Jibom bomb squad secured the explosives, transported them to a disposal site in Desa Oyangbara and destroyed them according to standard procedures. Authorities have urged residents not to touch suspicious objects and continue patrols in the post‑conflict area.

Both incidents prompted local law‑enforcement units to cordon off the locations, conduct safety checks and reassure the public that the devices pose no imminent threat.
