Indonesia police seize methamphetamine in Deli Serdang and Riau
Indonesia’s drug‑crime unit arrested a 31‑year‑old man in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, after he was found with a small packet of methamphetamine (approximately 0.42 g) on 15 June 2026. The suspect, identified only as “I,” was detained by the Sat Narkoba Polresta Deli Serdang following a tip from local residents, and the seized narcotic was taken to the police narcotics office for investigation.
In a separate operation on 17 June 2026, a joint team from Bareskrim’s narcotics division, the Bengkalis customs office and the Pekanbaru customs office intercepted a speedboat in the Indonesia‑Malaysia maritime border area of Riau. The raid uncovered three backpacks containing about 27 kg of crystal meth packed in Chinese‑origin tea bags. Two suspects, Adi Sofian and Bambang Irawan, were arrested after a chase and subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
