Indonesia population remains young with 46.9% under age 30

Data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) indicates that Indonesia maintains a relatively young population structure. As of 2025, approximately 46.9% of the total population is under the age of 30, totaling about 133.48 million people.

The largest age group is children aged 0-4 years, with 22.74 million individuals. Other significant youth demographics include the 25-29 age group (22.51 million), 20-24 age group (22.15 million), 15-19 age group (22.09 million), and 10-14 age group (22.02 million).

Beyond the under-30 demographic, the population shows a large productive-age segment, with the 30-34 age group numbering approximately 22.20 million. The population size gradually decreases in older age brackets, with the 65-69 age group comprising 9.30 million people.
