Prabowo Subianto reports 121 transformative policies at MPR Annual Session FAST-MOVING
During the 2026 Annual Session of the MPR and Joint Session of the DPR and DPD in Jakarta, President Prabowo Subianto delivered a state address highlighting significant government milestones. He reported that his administration has implemented 121 transformative policies over the past 21 months, averaging one every five days. Prabowo noted that the intense workload has led to health issues among several ministers, including hospitalizations and exhaustion.
On economic and food security fronts, the President announced that Indonesia has achieved self-sufficiency in eight food commodities: rice, corn, table sugar, industrial sugar, garlic, beef, buffalo meat, and soybeans. While acknowledging that self-sufficiency in garlic and certain meats is still a work in progress, he emphasized that protein needs are being met through fish, eggs, and chicken. Additionally, he highlighted a significant increase in judicial welfare, noting that junior judges' incomes have risen by 280 percent and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court now earns more than his counterpart in Singapore.
DPD Chairman Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin praised the administration's focus on economic independence and resource management, though he identified import dependence and transfer pricing as ongoing challenges. The session was attended by various high-level officials, including former presidents Joko Widodo, Jusuf Kalla, and Boediono, though PDIP leader Megawati Soekarnoputri was absent due to other commitments.
