Indonesia President Jokowi to Face Court Over Alleged Fake Diploma
Jakarta East District Court has received the case file alleging President Joko Widodo used a falsified diploma, naming former minister Roy Suryo and doctor Tifauzia Tyassuma as suspects. The court set Tyassuma’s first hearing for Thursday, 2 July 2026 at 09:00 WIB in the main courtroom, with judges Christina Endarwati (chair), Rudi Repli Siregar and Mathilda Christina Katarina presiding.
Roy Suryo, also charged, said Jokowi must appear in person and should not use a Zoom link, warning that the case would be dismissed if the president were absent. Jokowi has responded that he will attend the trial and bring his original diploma, which is currently held by Metro Police.
