President Prabowo Subianto raises military performance allowances

President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulations No. 42 and No. 43 of 2026, increasing performance allowances (tukin) for Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) personnel and Ministry of Defence employees. The new rules replace the 2018 regulations No. 102 and No. 104. Bintang‑4 officers now receive about Rp48.6 million per month, while entry‑level soldiers (Class 1) receive Rp2.5 million. The defence minister and the TNI commander each receive Rp56.09 million per month (150 % of the top‑class rate). The hike is the first adjustment in roughly eight years. A member of the DPR’s Commission I, Dave Laksono, said the increase does not conflict with the government’s budget‑efficiency policy. Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait confirmed the ministry has obtained copies of both regulations.
