Indonesia probes corruption in Wonosobo PKH aid and Ponorogo DPRD housing allowance
The Wonosobo District Attorney's Office (Kejari) is investigating alleged misappropriation of the Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) social‑assistance funds from 2018 through 2026. Investigators say the scheme may have caused losses of billions of rupiah, with more than 600 beneficiary families receiving only part of, or none of, the aid. The probe alleges that perpetrators seized beneficiaries' bank account books and Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera (KKS) cards to divert funds. No suspects have been formally named, and at least 20 witnesses have been examined while further evidence is being gathered.
In Ponorogo, the District Attorney's Office has named a former DPRD chairman (initials SN) as a suspect in a separate corruption case involving housing allowances for DPRD members for the 2023‑2026 budget period. The alleged scheme inflated appraisal values by about 15 %, resulting in a state loss estimated at roughly Rp 3.6 billion. The investigation also includes a former finance chief of the DPRD secretariat and continues to explore possible additional beneficiaries and a larger total loss.
