Indonesia promotes English language training for students and teachers

Regional authorities and private entities in Indonesia are implementing programs to enhance English language proficiency among students and educators to meet global and professional demands.

In Raja Ampat, Regent Orideko Iriano Burdam is advocating for English instruction to begin as early as third grade in elementary schools. This initiative aims to prepare the local youth for the region's growing international tourism sector, focusing on practical conversational skills rather than just theoretical knowledge.

In Mesuji Raya, a specialized training program is being conducted for students and teachers at SMA Negeri 1 and SMK Negeri 1 Mesuji Raya. This program, a collaboration between PT Prime Agri Resources Tbk and the Putera Sampoerna Foundation, covers reading, speaking, listening, and writing. The initiative seeks to improve human resource quality in areas surrounding corporate operational zones through workshops and coaching.
