Indonesia pursues suspects in Chromebook procurement corruption case

Investigations into alleged corruption regarding the procurement of Chromebooks and Smartboards at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology are progressing through both the Attorney General's Office and the KPK.

The Attorney General's Office reported that the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice for suspect Jurist Tan is currently pending approval from Interpol Lyon. While the Indonesian National Central Bureau has submitted the request, the final decision rests with Interpol. Jurist Tan remains on the wanted list, and investigators believe they have identified his location, though his exact coordinates have not been disclosed.

In a related development, the KPK presented Rusdi Hairullah, the former Head of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, as a witness in the Palembang Corruption Court. Prosecutors have previously linked Hairullah to alleged illicit fund flows in the procurement case involving defendants Fika Nur Alawi and Cory Erin Hadi. Other witnesses, including bribery suspects and local education department employees, also provided testimony during the proceedings.
