Indonesia Secures $3.4 B from JETP for Green Projects

Indonesia has mobilised US$3.4 billion of the US$21.4 billion pledged under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) to fund renewable‑energy projects. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the money will support a geothermal plant in Muara Labuh, Sumatra Barat, and a waste‑to‑energy facility in West Java, among other initiatives such as the Green Energy Corridor in Sulawesi and a de‑dieselisation programme. Funding partners include the International Partners Group (US$11 billion) and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (US$10 billion), with technical assistance from the United Kingdom and Ireland. Hartarto noted that US$3.1 billion had already been disbursed by November 2025, while an additional US$5.5 billion is under negotiation for concrete projects.
