Indonesia Rolls Out Multiple Economic Initiatives Aiming for 6% Growth in 2026

Commissioner of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission Tulus Santoso urged the use of TV and radio to counter misinformation and boost public participation in the 2026 Economic Census, emphasizing that clear communication is essential for accurate data collection.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar highlighted the need to raise Indonesia's entrepreneurship rate to 10‑12 % of the population. She cited the Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI) programme, which has trained more than two million young people since 2011, and its Student Company initiative that has reached over 18,000 students and created 845 student‑run businesses.

Economist Adhitya Wardhono warned that the new stimulus package for the battery‑based electric vehicle ecosystem must be paired with policies that raise domestic industrial productivity, lest the measures merely increase imports and leave Indonesia as a mere assembly market.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced a liquidity injection of 400 trillion rupiah into the banking system and the creation of a Debottlenecking Task Force to clear investment hurdles, with the goal of sustaining a 6 % GDP growth rate by the end of 2026.
