Indonesia Prepares Athletes and Logistics for Asian Games 2026
The Indonesian National Olympic Committee (KOI) warned that athletes competing independently will not automatically qualify for government bonuses, stating, “Kalau dari sisi kami itu enggak ada pengaruhnya… mereka tidak berhak nuntut.”
Chef de Mission Todotua Pasaribu outlined a multi‑tiered accommodation plan for the Asian Games delegation, using the athlete village, modular Garden Pier facilities, cruise ships and nearby hotels. He said the goal is to ensure comfort so athletes can perform at their best.
The Indonesian archery federation asked to depart early, proposing a 22 September arrival to use the Japanese training range and requesting a dedicated masseur, noting, “Jadi kami mohon kalau bisa kami berangkat tanggal 22.”
Former wushu champion Lindswell Kwok, now a national team coach, stressed mental preparation, saying, “Yang paling penting sebenarnya adalah psikologis atlet. Kepercayaan diri mereka di arena sangat dipengaruhi oleh persiapan jauh‑jauh hari.”
Together, these measures aim to maximise Indonesia’s medal prospects at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi‑Nagoya.
