Indonesia reshuffles TNI leadership and Ministry of Defense officials
President Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated several high-ranking military and defense officials in Indonesia. Jenderal TNI Tandyo Budi Revita has been appointed as the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), succeeding Jenderal TNI Maruli Simanjuntak. In a leadership swap, Maruli Simanjuntak has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the TNI, a role he holds concurrently with the position of Head of the National Agency for the Management of Border and Remote Areas.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense has expanded its leadership with the appointment of two new Deputy Ministers. Jenderal TNI Richard Taruli Horja Tampubolon will serve as Deputy Minister for Strategy, Doctrine, and Force Development, while Marsekal TNI Yusuf Jauhari will serve as Deputy Minister for Logistics, Defense Industry, and Technology. Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin expressed his expectation that the new appointees will work with dedication and integrity to strengthen national defense.
Following these appointments, TB Hasanuddin, a member of Commission I of the DPR RI, urged the new leadership to prioritize discipline. He specifically cited a recent incident involving online gambling at an officer's official residence in Cijantung as a matter requiring urgent attention to maintain the military's integrity.
