Indonesia finalises 26‑man squad for AFF Cup 2026 as tournament kicks off

The 2026 AFF Cup (ASEAN Hyundai Cup) began on 24 July 2026 with ten Southeast Asian teams divided into two groups. Group A features Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia and Timor Leste. Indonesia coach John Herdman announced a 26‑player roster after trimming a 50‑player training camp, confirming three goalkeepers (Nadeo Argawinata, Cahya Suaridi, Muhammad Riyandi) and a mix of senior internationals, overseas‑based players and naturalised talent such as Justin Hubner, Ivar Jenner and others. The Garuda will open their campaign against Cambodia on 27 July at Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, followed by matches versus Timor Leste (31 July) and Vietnam (3 August). Herdman praised the squad’s chemistry and highlighted the importance of the group‑stage fixtures as a stepping stone to the Asian Cup 2027. Across the tournament, Singapore secured a 2‑1 win over host Cambodia in Phnom Penh, while Vietnam entered the competition with three Brazil‑born naturalised forwards and a Slovak goalkeeper. The AFF Cup runs through 26 August, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals.
