Prabowo Subianto attends 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in New Delhi, India, to attend the 18th BRICS Summit held on September 12-13, 2026. Attending as a full member, Prabowo is scheduled to participate in sessions for both member and partner countries to discuss strategic agendas including global economic governance, trade, food security, energy, and digital technology.

India, serving as the 2026 BRICS Chair, has implemented heavy security measures in New Delhi for the event. Approximately 15,000 police personnel and 200 paramilitary companies have been deployed, with significant traffic diversions and the temporary closure of government offices and schools to facilitate the summit at Bharat Mandapam.

The summit aims to strengthen cooperation among developing nations and promote a more inclusive global economic order. Indian officials noted that the BRICS agenda aligns closely with bilateral interests between India and Indonesia, particularly in areas such as digital public infrastructure and the green transition.
