Indonesia is seeking to expand its maritime tourism sector by leveraging expertise from Monaco. Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, attended the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous to present the nation’s vision for a stronger, more sustainable maritime industry.
With over 17,000 islands and a rich marine environment, Indonesia faces challenges in developing infrastructure, safety standards, and professional skills across its vast archipelago. The Minister emphasized that human capital development and training are key priorities for international cooperation. Indonesia is currently working on a master plan to integrate infrastructure, sustainability, and safety to become a premier maritime destination in Asia.
