Indonesia Seizes Over 90 Kg of Methamphetamine in Major Drug Trafficking Cases

Authorities in Indonesia have confiscated more than 90 kilograms of methamphetamine and thousands of ecstasy tablets in two separate operations. In Lamandau, Central Kalimantan, police seized 35.1 kg of meth and 15,016 ecstasy tablets after a chase that ended with two suspects, identified as ME and HR, being arrested as couriers transporting the drugs from West Kalimantan to Palangka Raya. Prosecutor Firmansyah J confirmed the hand‑over of the suspects and evidence to the Lamandau district court, stating, “Dalam perkara ini diamankan barang bukti berupa narkotika jenis sabu seberat 35,1 kilogram dan 15.016 butir ekstasi dalam jumlah besar.”

In Jambi, police transferred a 58‑kg methamphetamine case involving courier Alung Ramadan (also known as Alung bin Asnawi) to prosecutors. After previously fleeing and being listed as a wanted person, Alung was recaptured and faces charges that could carry a life‑sentence. Prosecutor Noly Widjaja said the case now “beralih kepada Jaksa Penuntut Umum” and will move to trial at the Jambi district court.
