Indonesia sets deadline for mobile operators to implement internet quota rollover

The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital has set a deadline of September 28 for mobile operators to comply with a Constitutional Court ruling regarding internet data quotas. Minister Meutya Hafid stated that paid internet quotas are a consumer right and should not expire without providing options for remaining data to stay active.

The Ministry issued a circular to operators following public complaints that the ruling has not been fully implemented. The Constitutional Court mandate requires telecommunications providers to offer both rollover and non-rollover package options, ensuring consumers have the freedom to choose services that protect their remaining data.

Some reports indicate that certain providers, such as Telkomsel, have not yet implemented these rollover changes despite the final and binding nature of the court decision. The government expects operators to report their compliance status to the Ministry by the end of the month.
