Indonesia sets September CPO reference price at US$1,007.51 per metric ton

Indonesia's Ministry of Trade has set the reference price for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) for September 1–30, 2026, at US$1,007.51 per metric ton. This represents a 1.10% increase from the August reference price of US$996.52 per metric ton.

This adjustment impacts the calculation of export duties and levies. For September 2026, the government has established an export duty (Bea Keluar) of USD 148 per metric ton and an export levy (Pungutan Ekspor) of USD 125.9389 per metric ton. The reference price was calculated using the median average of prices from the Indonesia CPO Exchange and the Malaysia CPO Exchange.

In local markets, KPBN Inacom reported a slight decrease in CPO prices on September 4, 2026, with the Franco Dumai price set at Rp. 16,025/kg, a drop of approximately 0.45% from the previous day. Conversely, CPO futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives strengthened, driven by concerns regarding El Niño's impact on palm oil production in Malaysia and Indonesia.
